A dream destination for lovers of botany and ornithology, this haven of peace, made up of lakes, marshes, reed beds, heaths, meadows and forests, is home to no fewer than 2,300 species of animals and 1,200 species of plants! Among the most emblematic are the European pond turtle (small freshwater turtle), the purple heron, the orchid, the black-necked grebe, ducks, bitterns, dragonflies, etc.

To discover the richness of this magnificent area, imbued with peace and serenity, you can follow the discovery trails with information points, such as the Blizon Trail (in Rosnay ) and the Beauregard Trail (in Saint-Michel-en-Brenne ) and admire birds in peace from the observation posts of the Chérine nature reserve, the Foucault Lakes, Lake Bellebouche or Lake Massé.

The Mer Rouge lake is the largest lake in Brenne with its 160 hectares. The Bellebouche lake has a water sports centre and a sandy beach ideal for relaxation.
